Maine Beer Company is looking for a mid to senior-level Public Relations Manager and Community Liaison who will implement strategic initiatives to create and maintain a positive public image for the organization to all its stakeholders both internal and external, including but not limited to: press, nonprofit organization partners, wholesalers, and the MBC Tasting Room customers. This will be a highly motivated individual who fosters positive partnerships and community outreach. The Public Relations Manager and Community Liaison reports to the Chief Operating Officer. This is a full-time salaried position and will be based out of our office in Freeport, ME. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison between Maine Beer Company and the public
  • Develop and maintain a positive public image for the organization through public-facing communication
  • Respond to information requests from media contacts and seek new media opportunities that are brand-aligned
  • Arrange press interviews for company executives
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with Maine Beer Company nonprofit partners
  • Serve as point person for nonprofit giving and charitable donations
  • Plan, manage and execute events that give positive exposure to Maine Beer Company and their nonprofit partners
  • Determine appropriate venues to enter beer for product write-ups or reviews
  • Communicate internally to Maine Beer Company about new partnerships and initiatives
  • Provide content/copywriting for website, signage, social media, etc.


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in public media relations and communications, or similar
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
  • Extensive knowledge of public relations principles and strategies
  • Collaborative and positive attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use a computer and communicate via email or other outlets in a cordial way
  • Must be able to travel to and attend relevant events
  • Strong public speaking skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Craft Beer Industry knowledge extremely preferred, or knowledge of the overall Food & Beverage industry
  • Team player and willingness to work with others
